The Toyota Corolla Cross is a relatively new vehicle introduced for the 2022 model year, and the goal with it is to deliver what people like about the Corolla but in a crossover body style as opposed to a sedan or hatchback. The Corolla Cross, on the other hand, has an 8.1-inch ground clearance, a 103.9-inch wheelbase and a 175.6-inch length. Steel wheels are standard in both cases, and alloy wheels are included beyond the base trim. Toyota offers 17- and 18-inch wheels. Chevrolet also offers 19-inch wheels. With the Trax, you also have the option of several appearances packages whereas Toyota opts for a singular aesthetic across the board.

The Corolla Cross provides 43 inches of legroom, but that extra inch could’ve been put to better use in the second row. The Trax provides an impressive 39 inches of rear legroom, which means that you can accommodate adults back there comfortably. The Corolla Cross provides just 32 inches, which is a tight fit for anyone other than a kid. Dedicated cargo space is comparable in both models at about 25 cubic feet.

In order to get a suite of driver assists comparable to the Corolla Cross on the Trax, you have to opt for the Driver Confidence package. That said, you can opt for the LS plus that option and still come in under the MSRP for the base Corolla Cross. The only feature you can get on the Toyota model not available on the Trax is rear automatic braking.
