What's new on the 2023 Chevrolet Corvette

The 2023 model continues the eighth generation, which is the first to feature the mid-engine design. The race-inspired C8.R edition has been discontinued for this model year. The Z06 makes its debut as a high-performance alternative to the Stingray. Chevrolet has also introduced the 70th Anniversary Special Edition. It is available on the level 3 trims and adds unique exterior and interior appearance packages.

2023 Chevrolet Corvette - Performance

Both models feature a dual-clutch eight-speed automatic transmission that distributes power to the rear wheels. The engines differ, however. The Stingray has a 6.2-liter V8 that makes 490 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque. The Z06 has a 5.5-liter V8 that makes 670 hp and 460 lb.-ft.

Chevrolet Corvette - Safety

With the 1LZ trim level, standard equipment is expanded to include summer performance tires, a performance-oriented traction control system, performance Brembo brakes, a performance exhaust system, performance adaptive dampers that are magnetically controlled, an electronically controlled limited-slip differential, a front splitter and an adjustable rear spoiler. A performance data recorder is standard with the 2LZ and up. The magnetic dampers are optional earlier in the lineup. A front lift system is optional across the board. Many of the features mentioned thus far can be added to other trims via the Z51 Performance package. There is also a Z07 Performance package available exclusively for the Z06 trims. You can also add any of the mechanical enhancements from that package à la carte.

There are six trim levels available for the Corvette in two groups: LT and LZ. LT refers to the Stingray, and LZ refers to the Z06. These groups differ in terms of their powertrains and other mechanical characteristics. The numbered trims otherwise map to each other. In other words, the base package included with the 1LT is essentially the same as that included with the 1LZ, and the items added to the 2LT are found on the 2LZ as well.

Chevrolet offers a dozen distinct colors in all for the 2023 Chevrolet Corvette.
